About Me

I am a scholar, a teacher and an activist. I work within the foundations of education and research methodology, exploring the intersection of movement, affect, and discourse in culture and schooling. My dissertation investigates the production of “acting out” students in 19th century schooling through a lens of affect theory. I am editing a book on qualitative research, public intellectualism, and social activism (click here for more). And, I am the chair of the Graduate Student Committee in the Qualitative Research SIG in AERA and an Editorial Assistant at Taboo: A Journal of Culture and Education. Have a question? Contact me!

We shall not cease from exploration
and the end of all our exploring will
be to arrive where we started and
know the place for the first time.
